Employee Spotlight: Craig Easton
Meet Craig Easton.
Craig Easton joined the Rotech team in June 2019, bringing with him a wealth of testing experience within aerospace and automotive sectors. As our Head of Metallurgy, Craig oversees the day-to-day running of the metallurgy department.
- What it is like working with the Rotech team?
The team here are all very knowledgeable and give great customer service. We always go above and beyond for our customers, and each other. The best thing about my job is the people I work with, they’re the best team I’ve ever worked with.
- What is the strangest or most interesting thing that you have had to test?
I received an enquiry to test a meteorite to determine the material, that was a pretty strange request.
- What does a typical day look like for the Head of Metallurgy?
I start off by organising the testing schedule for the day; checking on the Operations Manager and the Metallurgy team to make sure that tests can be carried out and when the tests themselves are due. I also check when the results of completed tests are due to go out to customers. For the rest of the day, I look after customer enquiries, and sign off on completed work reports, organising tests for the following day, and general management of the Metallurgy team.
- If you had not chosen this career, what else would you have chosen?
I think I would have chosen a career in politics because I enjoy a good debate.
- Tell us a little about yourself.
I enjoy watching football and reading, my favourite book is Animal Farm by George Orwell, and my favourite place to go on holiday is Las Vegas.
